The train was on its way to Varanasi when the derailment took place. At least 30 passengers were killed and around 150 others were injured in a train accident in Raebareli district of Uttar Pradesh on Friday morning. The accident occurred around 9:30 am near Bachhrawan Railway station, about 50 km from state capital, Lucknow. According to preliminary reports, the locomotive driver apparently overshot the signal and as a result, the engine and two adjoining coaches derailed, Railway Spokesperson Anil Saxena said in Delhi. Railways have ordered an inquiry and announced a compensation of   R s. 2 lakh for the next of kin of those killed in the accident. Rohit Sharma stroked an authoritative century and Umesh Yadav claimed four wickets to help defending champion India advance to the World Cup semifinals with a 109-run win over Bangladesh on Thursday. Sharma scored 137 off just 126 balls with 14 boundaries and three sixes, sharing a 122 -run fourth-wicket partnership with Suresh Raina (65) to help India reach 302-6 after some tight Bangladesh bowling contained much of the innings. WhatsApp is expected to introduce the calling feature in its app soon. This feature will allow people to talk to their WhatsApp contacts using the cellular data connection or Wi-Fi. This means they won't have to pay for the call charges. Only the data charges will apply, irrespective of where you are calling. This is similar to Skype or Viber. But considering the user base of WhatsApp it is a big deal. The feature is not yet officially available.   Facebook Inc said it is adding a new feature to its messaging app that allows friends to send and receive money through it. Users can tap or click a dollar icon in a new chat window to send money to their friends, after they link a Visa or MasterCard debit card issued by a U.S. bank to their accounts. The free feature will roll out over the next few months for users in the United States who access Facebook Messenger through desktop computers or Google Inc's Android and Apple Inc's iOS operating systems on mobile devices. Users can create a PIN or enable Touch ID if they have an iPhone to add a level of security to the payments. Snapchat had launched a similar service last November, called Snapcash. The mobile messaging company partnered with online payments company Square to allow Snapchat users to link their debit cards to their account and quickly send money to a contact by starting a chat on a smartphone.

Indian Railways on Monday became the first company in the country to provide customer complaint services on a mobile app besides providing the facility online by launching a complaint management system (Coms). The Coms comprises the mobile app, an online portal backed by a centralised grievance redressal monitoring system and a mobile network messaging facility. "Passengers can also SMS their complaints on the mobile number," the railway authorities said in a statement. Railway Minister   Suresh Prabhu   on Monday said the app and the web portal will act as a suggestion forum as the complaint can be tracked once the supplicant registers with the app or online. He said the railways welcome suggestions from people to further improve passenger services and valuable suggestions on this newly launched portal can be incorporated in all possible ways, if found suitable. The Kashmir Valley on Monday witnessed heavy snowfall, disrupting surface and air traffic in the state. The Met office has forecast more rain and snowfall till Tuesday. "Due to the Western Disturbances active over Jammu and Kashmir, weather conditions will remain the same. There will be more snowfall till Tuesday," Met office director Sonam Lotus told IANS here. The Jammu-Srinagar highway was closed for all sorts of vehicular traffic because of heavy snowfall in Banihal sector and landslides in Ramban sector, an official said.     Due to accumulation of snowfall on the runway and poor visibility, all flights from the Srinagar airport have been cancelled on Monday, the official added. "However, there is going to be decrease in precipitation level from Monday evening," Lotus said. There has been eight cm of snowfall in Srinagar till Monday morning while the minimum temperature was recorded at 0.4 degrees Celsius, said the Met director. ...
