Sonam is more beautiful than Aishwarya, says Salman Khan

Salman Khan, who will be next seen with Sonam Kapoor in Sooraj Barjatya's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, has called his latest co-star more beautiful than his ex-flame Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Sonam Kapoor and Salman Khan

It's been 16 years since Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan shared the screen for the first time in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. If their on-screen chemistry cast a spell on the audience, their on-film romance soon blossomed into an off-film relationship. But things went sour, and as they say, the rest is history. Cut to 2015, Aishwarya is married to actor Abhishek Bachchan, and is mother to a three-year-old daughter, Aaradhya. Salman, on the other hand, has continued to remain single and still eludes every question on his no-one-knows-when-it'll-happen marriage.

But till date, the two often find themselves in a delicate situation when the name of the other suddenly pops up. Even after all these years. And exactly the same happened at the Delhi presser of Salman's upcoming film Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, when his co-star Sonam Kapoor was asked about being compared to Bajrangi Bhaijaan's former heroines like Aishwarya and Madhuri Dixit.
"They are amazing in whatever they do, and I don't think I should be compared to them. They are brilliant, and I am nowhere close to being as beautiful as Aishwarya or as talented as Madhuri. So, I don't think the comparisons are fair. But having said that, I am also Anil Kapoor's daughter. And not much grows under the Banyan tree, I know that. So, I am used to comparisons, ever since I started my career. The pressure doesn't bog me down, it just makes me work harder," replied Sonam.
While Sonam took the question in her stride and made her point clear, Salman immediately jumped to her rescue and called her even more beautiful than his ex-flame Aishwarya. "I think Sonam is as beautiful and equally talented. Perhaps more... I think more, actually."
The Kick actor did not stop here. When asked about the style tips that he got from fashionista Sonam on the sets of the film, Salman said, "I was impressed by her beauty.Kapdo pe toh dhyaan hi nahi jaata tha, bas face pe hi rehta tha."
But the 49-year-old also admitted that he wasn't too comfortable romancing his friend's daughter for the film. Salman, who has worked with Anil Kapoor in numerous films, found it difficult to get close to Sonam during the shooting of the film. "The most difficult thing I have ever done - is to romance Sonam. I used to keep looking at her and see that she was really beautiful, and then suddenly a moustache would grow on her face!" Salman chuckled.
With Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Salman is back as Sooraj Barjatya's quintessential hero Prem. After a gap of 16 years, the two have collaborated for yet another family drama, and Salman calls PRDP one of the most beautiful films he has ever done.
"I have worked with Sooraj Barjatya in Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun and Hum Saath Saath Hain. And Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is a better film than these three films put together. This film has the same emotions, be it action, romance or comedy, but the script is different. It is a complete family entertainer. Is baat ki toh guarantee hai ki jis bhi mood mein aap yeh movie dekhne jaayenge, us se dus guna better mood mein baahar ayenge. If you love your family, this film fill definitely touch you," added the Wanted actor.
Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, which is set to hit the screens on November 12, also stars Neil Nitin Mukesh, Swara Bhaskar and Anupam Kher.
