Celkon launches Q54 Millennia ME budget selfie-phone at Rs.5,555


Home grown manufacturer, Celkon has introduced a new budget selfie-phone in the Indian market. The Celkon Q54 Millennia ME smartphone has been launched in India at a price tag of Rs.5,555.
Let's take a brief look at the specifications of the said device. The Celkon Q54 Millennia ME smartphone features a 5-inch FWVGA IPS display (unspecified resolution). It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core processor (unspecified chipset) coupled with 512MB RAM. It comes with 4GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 32GB via micro-SD card slot.
The dual-SIM smartphone runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box. It sports a 5MP rear camera with LED flash along with another 5MP front-facing snapper for selfie enthusiasts. Connectivity options on the device include: WIFI, Bluetooth A2DP and 3G. The device is backed by a 2000mAh Lithium Ion battery with no word on talk-time.
The Celkon Q54 Millennia ME will be available in all retail stores as well as leading ecommerce portals.            
"This phone provides a unique take-away for all categories of people. Gaming aficionados can revel in their experience with the gravity sensors while selfie lovers can take best selfies with the 5MP front camera." Murali Retineni, executive director, Celkon Mobiles said during the launch.
Notably this is Celkon's second budget offering of the year. Chairman and managing director of the company, Y Guru reiterated that Celkon would be launching more affordable handsets shortly.  
It can be recalled that Redmond giant Microsoft recently launched its Lumia 535 handset in India. The Microsoft Lumia 535 is the first Lumia handset sans the Nokia branding and is also equipped with 5MP cameras on both sides. It is priced at Rs.8,999. That said, it has slightly better innards when compared with Celkon's offering. Also it is a Windows Phone 8.1 running device.
