The skipper led by example as Kings XI Punjab sealed a win to start their IPL campaign on a winning note in Indore.
He made 44 not out in 20 balls as Punjab beat Rising Pune Supergiant by 6 wickets with an over to spare. The knock contained 2 fours and 4 sixes.
Chasing 164 to win, they were in a spot of bother at 85/4 with the asking rate going up. But Maxwell took the bull by the horns to finish it off in his usual slam bang style.

It is a good start for him in the tournament and Punjab hopes he can keep the momentum going in the future games.
