Facebook adds Hindi transliteration for Android users

Fcebook has added a new Hindi transliteration feature in its Android app. The feature allows users to type in English and convert it to the Devanagari script. Basically, this means that if a user types something out in English, it will get transliterated into Hindi. The latest version of the Facebook app brings about this feature which adds a small icon on the top right corner above the virtual keyboard on the phone. While this may sound like a game-changing feature, the stock Google keyboard already provides for this capability. "When people use this, we take the characters typed in English and suggests similar Devanagari characters. This new option will also remember the suggestions you use the most. We're just starting to roll this out and working to improve, but if we don't get the Devanagari characters right, there is an option to type them in yourself," says Facebook while launching the feature. Facebook developing camera app similar to Snapchat

Facebook Inc is developing a stand-alone camera app, similar to disappearing photo app Snapchat, to increase user engagement, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter. The app, being developed by Facebook's "friend-sharing" team in London, is in its early stages and may never come to fruition, according   to the report. The company is also planning a feature that allows a user to record video through the app to begin live streaming, the newspaper reported. Facebook declined to comment on the report.
