All Indian train stations where free Google Wi-Fi is available
Google recently added nine more stations to its list where it provides free Wi-Fi to commuters. This is provided in partnership with RailTel, which is the department within Indian Railways responsible for the organisation's huge network of fibre lines.
The recent announcement also means that now Google provides Wi-Fi at 10 stations. And these 10 are:
All Indian train stations where free Google Wi-Fi is available
1. Mumbai
2. Bhopal
3. Bhubaneswar
4. Ernakulam Jn
5. Kacheguda
6. Pune
7. Raipur
8. Ranchi
9. Vijaywada
10. Vishakhapatnam
Is your city in this list? If yes, you can go to these stations and access free and unrestricted high-speed internet on your phone or laptop. If your city is not yet part of the list, you will have to wait for some time. Google and Indian Railways plan to provide this free Wi-Fi in 100 stations by the end of the year. And once that happens, more stations will be added.
"It's still early days, but we're really happy about this progress towards making high-speed Wi-Fi available to more than 10 million Indians every day. In the months ahead, we'll continue to work in close partnership with Indian Railways and RailTel, to reach 90 more stations this year, and eventually 400 spanning the whole of India," says a Google spokesperson.
