OnePlus X gets permanent price drop, now selling for less than Rs.15,000
OnePlus on Saturday announced a price cut on OnePlus X in India. The smartphone will now be available for Rs.14,999, which is Rs.2,000 less than its launch price, on the company's exclusive online partner Amazon India.
The phone is available in three variants: Onyx, Champagne, and Ceramic. However, the price cut is applicable only for the lower-end Onyx version. The company announced the new prices on its official Twitter handle on Saturday morning.
The OnePlus X smartphone comes with a 5-inch FullHD AMOLED display with a 1080p resolution and 441ppi pixel density. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor coupled with 3GB RAM. It comes in 16GB and 64GB internal memory options, both expandable by up to 128GB through a microSD card.
Launched in October 2015 in India, the OnePlus X is the third and the cheapest phone from the company. The phone was earlier available through the invite-only system, which waslater removed in February 2016.
OnePlus had launched the OnePlus X with great expectations. However, the overall reception wasn't very promising at the launch. The smartphone faced tough competition not just from the phones like Moto X Play, but also from its own predecessor OnePlus One, which saw its price reduced to less than Rs.20,000 for the 64GB model.
OnePlus is expected to launch a new phone called OnePlus 3 this year. According to the reports, the upcoming phone will come with the latest Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB of RAM. The company had earlier hinted that it would launch the new phone by the end of second quarter this year.
