Amazing jungle camps in India

Want to get close to nature? There's no better way to do that than spending some time in a jungle, breathing in the fresh air, spotting the birds and exploring the flora and fauna of the area. India is home to various types of forests, including tropical, evergreen, sub-tropical and sub-alpine. All you need to do is go to one of these and rejuvenate yourself.
Eco Camp, Nameri National Park, Assam

This jungle stay option is right in the middle of Assam's Nameri National Park, which means that you're going to be surrounded by pure wilderness at all times. Run by the local forest department, the camp offers its guests the option of staying in a tent or in one of the thatched cottages. You can explore the national park or go rafting in the Jia Bhoroli River, which is less than half a kilometre away, and sit by a bonfire at the camp during night time.

Jungle Livinn, Chail, Himachal Pradesh

This camp sits atop one of the several beautiful hills in the Chail district of Himachal Pradesh, offering spectacular views of the neighbouring valleys. At this camp, you can stay in tents and wake up to the charm of an enchanting Deodar forest that surrounds the area. During the winters, the camp transforms into an absolute wonderland, covered by a thick blanket of snow.

The Bundela Safari Lodge is spread over eight acres of land near Kanha National Park's Khatia gate. The evergreen sal forest and the Banjaar River dominate the view from this property throughout the day.

The Bheemeshwari Jungle Lodge calls itself a nature and adventure camp, and that's exactly what it is. Surrounded by dense forests where elephants, deer, crocodiles, turtles, snakes and about 200 species of birds can be spotted, Bheemeshwari is a great place for both nature lovers and adventure seekers. Activities offered by this camp include kayaking, zip line and rope walking.

Located right in the middle of the Western Himalayan Forests of Himachal Pradesh, Camp Potters Hill is a perfect jungle getaway. The name comes from the hill it is located on, which was traditionally home to potters. The camp has tents and cottages for accommodation, day and night treks, and adventure activities of offer, including rope walking and rock climbing.
