PDP  Ready to form J&K Government with Support from BJP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is ready to form the government in Jammu and Kashmir with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on issue-based agreements, party's chief spokesperson Nayeem Akhtar told Headlines Today on Monday.
Akhtar was talking to Headlines Today even as the BJP top brass held a discussion with the party's state leaders in New Delhi to discuss government formation.
He said that formal talks are on with the BJP and the PDP has put its demands forward to the saffron party. "Let the BJP decide," he added.

Akhtar said the PDP wants to end tension along the border and that it was for trade with Pakistan, not terror and tension.
"We want Vajpayee's mission be taken forward," the PDP leader said referring to its alliance with the BJP at the Centre in the past.
The BJP and the PDP have been exploring various possibilities for government formation since election results on December 23 threw up a hung Assembly. The PDP emerged as the single largest party winning 28 seats, followed by BJP's 25, National Conference's 15 and the Congress's 12 seats.
