Xiaomi announces new Mi Note and Note Pro

Xiaomi on Thursday announced two new devices -- Mi Note and Mi Note Pro -- at an event in China. The two devices are the new flagship phones from the company and will compete against the phablets like the Apple iPhone 6 Plus and Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
Unlike last year when the Xiaomi devices had a unmistakably mainstream character and had used powerful but not top of the line hardware, the new Note devices from the company use latest components.
This is particularly true for the Mi Note Pro. The device has a 5.7-inch screen with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution, which should make it extremely sharp. This device will come with 8-core Snapdragon 810 processor, which is the latest processor created by Qualcomm. This processor runs at a speed of up to 2GHz and has Adreno 430 graphics chip. The Note Pro will come with 64GB internal storage and 4GB DDR4 RAM, making it the second smartphone after the LG G-Flex 2 to feature DDR4 RAM.
The Mi Note Pro will have a price of Yuan 3299 in China which means the India price could be around Rs.33,000. It will available after March.

The Mi Note, meanwhile, is a more mainstream -- albeit very powerful -- device. It will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor which has four cores and speed of up to 2.5GHz. This device has 3GB RAM, a 13-megapixel camera with optical image stabilisation and 4-megapixel front camera. The Mi Note will also have a 5.7-inch screen. However, this one has a resolution of 1080p. Xiaomi said that the Mi Note screen will have a layer of curved Gorilla Glass layer, which should not only make it look more attractive but may also give it a better feel in hand.
The Mi Note will start selling in China this month at a price of Yuan 2299 for 16GB model. This means in India the device may cost around 23,000.
For now Xiaomi has not talked about any India-specific launch plans for the Mi Note and Mi Note Pro.
