Xiaomi Mi4 coming to India on January 28

While Xiaomi went ahead and launched the Mi Note and the Mi Note Pro phablets at an event in Beijing on Thursday, Xiaomi's Hugo Barra confirmed to reporters that the Mi4 will be launching in India on January 28. Earlier, Xiaomi India head, Manu Kumar Jain told reporters that the Mi4 will be launching in India in January itself.
If the product gets launched on January 28, then Xiaomi could easily host a Tuesday flash sale on February 3 on Flipkart.
The Mi4 is the successor to the Mi3, which was the first Xiaomi product in India. Xiaomi stopped selling the Mi3 only a couple of weeks, and launched the Redmi 1S and in December it launched the Redmi Note smartphones in India. However, since it stopped selling the Mi3 it still does not have a flagship product in India. The Mi4 represents exactly that.
The Mi4 features a new design with diamond cut chamfers. It has a 5-inch 1080p screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz working with 3GB RAM and will have 64GB of storage. For shutterbugs, it has a 13-megapixel rear camera, and a 8-megapixel front camera. It also packs in a 3,080mAh battery and is expected to have 4G LTE support in India.
For the longest time, the company claimed that it was in the process of getting certifications for the device so that it could be launched in India.
Actually, its specs are quite similar to the Mi Note, which was announced in Beijing on Thursday. The phone will run on Android 4.4 KitKat wrapped under Xiaomi's custom MiUI user interface. As of now, Xiaomi is not talking about the launch of the Mi Note and the Mi Note Pro.
