Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge to launch in India on March 8

First shown at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will reach India on March 8. With the launch of the new flagship phones, Samsung continues its tradition of bringing its new phones to India around the same time when it launches them globally.
It is expected that from March 8 consumers will be able to preorder the phones. The actually availability of the Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge in India is likely to be after March 11. Also, for now there is no hint of specific India prices for these phones but expect them to be above Rs.50,000.
The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, while similar to their predecessors in design, come with nifty changes inside. The S7 sports a 5.1-inch superAMOLED display with a resolution of 2560 X 1440 pixels. The S7 Edge comes with a bigger 5.5-inch screen.
Samsung at the MWC talked about the phone's ability to provide better battery life, which it attributed to its home-grown Exynos 8890 processor. The S7 has a 3000 mAh battery while the S7 Edge comes with a 3600 mAh battery.
According to Samsung, the Galaxy S7 is 30 per cent more powerful than the S6. The new phones come with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
Both the phones sport 12-megapixel cameras with bigger pixels and optical image stabilisation. At the MWC event, Samsung claimed that these phones produce better images than what the iPhone 6S Plus can manage. The camera seems really good in the Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge, at least that is how it looks like from the photos that we clicked with the phone at the MWC.
Samsung had earlier announced that it will be spending around Rs.100 crore for the promotion of both the latest flagship phones.
