WhatsApp now lets you keep tap of the links you share

The instant messaging app WhatsApp is now receiving a host of new features in its latest update for Android smartphones. The Facebook-owned messaging app now lets you take control of the links you share in the chat. Users can now copy links from chats, check the shared link history and have more clear chat options. While the new version will automatic reach smartphones through an update, users can also update the app from the company's official website or Google Play beta testing program. 
Here are the new changes that you may see or have already started seeing in your WhatsApp:
  • Copy links from chat: WhatsApp keeps on rolling so many updates that users often fail to take note of some changes. Earlier WhatsApp didn't let its users copy only the link from a message, instead the whole message would be copied. The update makes it easier. Here's how the new feature works. For example, you receive a link in a chat and have to forward it to someone. With the new update you can now conveniently copy only the link by simply long pressing it.
  • Shared Link History:  WhatsApp so far let its users check all the all the images and videos that the they have sent and received with an individual contact. The new update now adds another tab on the same screen. The new tab shows a list of all the shared links in chats. Tapping the link immediately opens it in your browser, tapping on the text part it takes you directly to the original message that it came in.
  • Clear chats: The older WhatsApp version let its users delete the whole chat history with a contact. That cleared all the message in one chat, happy and unhappy equally. With this latest update, WhatsApp now lets you delete all messages or only those that are older than 30 days or 6 months.
The recent update also brings some changes in the app for the iOS users. The iPhone users can now share photos and videos on the app not only from their gallery but also from third party apps like Google Drive and Dropbox.  Users can also zoom in the videos while playing. The update can be downloaded from the Apple's App store.
WhatsApp has been rolling out updates on a global level recently. Just a few weeks ago it rolled out a bigger range of emojis including the much debated middle finger emoji. The varying emojis were available only for a number of users on testing basis. But this time the update seems to have reached almost everyone at the same time.
