Xiaomi announces Redmi Note 3, Mi Bluetooth Speaker, Mi 5 & more

Chinese company Xiaomi unveiled a whole gamut of products -- the Redmi Note 3, Mi Bluetooth Speaker & more -- for the Indian market on Thursday. The unveiling marks a new (and significant) chapter for Xiaomi in what is its second largest market after home turf China, according to company vice president for global, Hugo Barra.

Here's the entire list of products that were announced by Xiaomi on Thursday:
--Xiaomi Redmi Note 3
Xiaomi, as expected has brought the Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 totting Redmi Note 3 Pro to India. The Redmi Note 3 is available in two variants back in China: once with MediaTek Helio X10 (the Redmi Note 3) CPU, and another with Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor (the Redmi Note 3 Pro). The ongoing legal dispute between Xiaomi and Swedish firm Ericsson prohibits the former from selling MediaTek-based devices in India. This is probably why the company has brought the Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 powered Redmi Note 3 Pro to India. Prices start at as low as Rs.9,999 (2GB RAM/16GB memory) and go all the way to Rs.11,999 (3GB RAM/32GB memory). Both the variants support expandable storage of up to 32GB via microSD card slot. Both the phones support dualSIM, 4G LTE and run Android Lollipop-based MIUI 7.
The Redmi Note 3 comes with a 5.5-inch FullHD display with a 1080x1920 pixels resolution and supports Xiaomi's proprietary Sunlight Display technology. The phone sports a 16-megapixel camera on the rear and a 5-megapixel camera on the front.
It sports a full-metal unibody and features a fingerprint scanner on the back. It is backed by a 4,050mAh battery which supports fast charging.
The Redmi Note 3 will be available from March 9 on Amazon India and Xiaomi's official website. The company plans to offer the phone through other online platforms and offline stores as well in the days to come.
-Xiaomi Mi Bluetooth Speaker
The recently unveiled Mi Bluetooth Speaker is coming to India this Holi, which means it's coming to India in the last week of March itself. The company has priced it at Rs.1,999 and it will be sold online through Mi.com/in only, just like the company's other accessories.
The Mi Bluetooth Speaker boasts of a full metal unibody and is the size of a pencil. Designed for portability on the go, the device comes with a microSD card port and built-in microphone. The Mi Bluetooth Speaker is backed by a 1,500mAh battery which is rated to deliver up to 8 hours of music playback o single charge.
--Xiaomi 20,000mAh Mi Power Bank

Unveiled in China back in November 2015, the 20,000mAh Mi Power Bank joins the other portable power banks offered by the company: 16,000mAh, 10,400mAh, 10,000mAh and 5,000mAh. Xiaimo hasn't disclosed pricing and availability details for now, but it's coming to India soon.
Unlike its other power banks, the 20,000mAh variant has an ABS plastic body which offers better grip and also prevents scratches, according to the company. At 338 grams, the 20,000mAh variant weighs less than the 16,000mAh variant (350 grams).
Connectivity options include: two standard USB ports and one micro-USB port. With a maximum output of 5.1V/3.6 A, the 20,000mAh Mi Power Bank can charge a Mi 4 4.5 times, an iPhone 6 seven times, an iPad mini three times, and even a MacBook 1.2 times, according to the company.
--One more thing...

Xiaomi's biggest surprise of the day has to be the Mi 5 . Xiaomi will launch the Mi 5 flagship phone in a month, announced Hugo Barra. To recall, the Mi 5 was globally unveiled by Xiaomi at the recently concluded MWC 2016 event in Barcelona, Spain. Barra had categorically said that the company will be focusing on core markets for now, with respect to the Mi 5, a phone that took two years in the making.
The new Mi 5 phone comes with a 5.15-inch FullHD IPS display with a 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and is powered by a Qualcomm's latest and greatest mobile processor, which is Snapdragon 820. It will be available in 2 RAM variants: 3GB and 4GB. It's not clear yet whether or not both the variants will be coming to India. Further, the company is offering the Mi 5 in three storage variants: 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. Expandable storage is not supported.
The Mi 5 sports a 16-megapixel camera on the rear with 4-axis optical image stabilisation, phase detection autofocus and LED flash. It's rocking a Sony IMX298 sensor (first device in the world to ship with this sensor) and a Sapphire glass lens. The Mi5 also has a 4-megapixel camera on the front. The Xiaomi Mi 5 is backed by a 3,000mAh battery which is non-removable. The phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based MIUI 7 out-of-the-box.
The Mi 5 starts at $262 (roughly Rs.17,956) for the base 32GB/3GB RAM/3D glass body variant, while the top-end Mi 5 Pro costs $354 (roughly Rs.24,262).
